Right now, Nexomon: Extinction is the hottest little Pokémon game that’s not actually a Pokémon game. It features a lot of the same mechanics, only with a darker story, a sense of self-awareness, and a whole lot of streamlining that the Pokémon franchise has been in desperate need of for years.
Nexomon: Extinction was updated to version 1.03 on PS4 today. The update adds Spanish language support, adds Gradow to the game, and fixes a lot of progress-halting bugs. Here are the full patch notes:
- Added Spanish (Latin America) language support.
- The startup loading screen is now more responsive.
- Major rebalance of the game difficulty.
- Fixed a bug where the game would freeze if you manually change the language to the same language that is currently running.
- Added new visual effects to some caves.
- Fixed various bugs caused by status effects during battles that affected the flow of events.
- Added and improved various sound effects.
- Fixed a bug when a player learns multiple skills at the same time, the player only gets to keep one.
- Fixed an issue where a sidequest (Tree of Gifts) was not giving the player a Vault Key, which is necessary to capture a legendary dragon. Older save files that had completed this quest will receive the Vault Key at startup.
- Fixed an issue where the “dragon whistle” wasn’t improving your capture chances.
- One Nexomon was impossible to find (Gradow), which is now added.
- Added footstep sounds.
- Fixed an issue where if the player advances a lot through the story, some “weaker” Nexomon stop appearing and can not be found ever again.
This was the much-promised first-week update. Future planned updates include a massive content update, a New Game + mode, and a hardcore mode. Hopefully we’ll know more about all of those things soon.
