Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Update: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD on Nintendo Switch is official. The original article appears in its entirety below.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is in the awkward position of having made full use of the Nintendo Wii’s MotionPlus controller, which didn’t release until late in the console’s lifespan. Not only did this mean that a lot of people probably missed out on it, but it also means that porting it to other consoles would be a little tricky.

Of course, that’s not stopping Nintendo from trying .Well, if an Amazon UK listing is to be believed, anyway. A short-lived listing on the retailer’s UK website showed Skyward Sword available for the Switch. The listing has since been taken down, but Twitter user Wario64 got a screencap.

Before you get too excited, keep in mind that this information comes from an unofficial source, and that Nintendo has squashed rumors of a Skyward Sword Switch port in the the past. The image above could easily have been faked, and it’s a bit too early to get your hopes up.

Still, Nintendo certainly does love their Legend of Zelda remakes, and being able to enjoy Skyward Sword without motion controls would be very cool.

Is this a mistake (or even a hoax), or will we really see Skyward Sword on the Switch? Only time will tell.

In the meantime, get your Legend of Zelda fix by checking out this N64 demake of the Breath of the Wild sequel trailer. It’s pretty fantastic.
