Unrailed

Unrailed! brings so many elements from so many different game genres that it’s a bit hard to describe. It has a voxel-based look similar to the tragically ambitious Stonehearth, as well as building and crafting elements that harken back to Minecraft. Yet it’s a railroad building sim, but it’s also a multiplayer game (supporting both co-op and competitive games). It’s also kind of a race?

The concept is you have to build a railroad in front of a train. The train eventually starts moving, and if you can’t keep up with it, the train will derail. You can also upgrade the train at various stops along the way. You’ll also have to do some light terraforming to clear a path, as well as some mining.

You do all this as part of a team, or you can compete against another set of players who also has their own train. For solo folks, you can also play on your own, with bots taking over the other toles. All in all, Unrailed! looks wild, amazing, gorgeous, and stupid amounts of fun.

The game has been in Early Access for a while now, but Unrailed! officially launches on September 28, 2020, on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
