In Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning, there’s a Trophy called Out of Your League. The objective is to kill an enemy who is four levels higher than you. With the game’s difficulty scaling, however, finding such enemies can be tricky. However, there’s an easy method for doing this, no matter how far into the game you’ve gotten.
Note: This also works in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, the previous version of this game.
First of all, the game should create a hard autosave (an autosave that needs to be saved over or deleted manually) once you complete the tutorial. The file is called Dalentarth (Tutorial Complete). Load that up, do the obligatory business (you’ll have to talk to Agarth, kill some enemies, and do the Reckoning tutorial).
At this point, if you want to make things a little bit easier for yourself, switch the difficulty to Casual and choose the Rogue Destiny. If you managed to level up during the Reckoning tutorial, invest your skill point into lockpicking. (You should be Level 1 at this point, having leveled up from 0 to 1.)
Now head into Gorhart (the starting village) and make some mischief. All you really have to do is go into stealth mode and try to pickpocket someone. The guards will be called, and you’ll be halted. Here, you’ll want to pick the “Go to Jail” option.
Once in jail, you’ll need to break free. Note that you might want to create a save point before you attempt to break out, because you only have one attempt. Just be careful to not accidentally save over your main save file.
Approach the door, and you can either pick the lock or try to force it. Depending on the race you chose for your character (the Varani race grants a +2 bonus to lockpicking, for example) and whether or not you invested a skill point into lockpicking, you could potentially have a 60% chance to force the lock. I think that’s easier than actually picking the lock.
If you don’t already have it, picking the lock (or forcing it) should also earn you the Jailbreak Trophy.
Once you open the cell door, you’ll want to go into stealth mode. There should be two guards in the next area. Wait for them to clear out and then sneakily reclaim your stuff. All of your items are inside a chest that’s slightly off to right once you exit your cell.
Make sure the second guard has rounded the corner and is out of sight before you attempt the next step.
To the left of that chest is a lever that unlocks the cell that’s holding another prisoner. Pull that to set the other prisoner free, but don’t let him escape. He’s your ticket to getting the Out of Your League Trophy. The prisoner is unarmed and has no armor, so he’s a cinch to kill. However, he’ll start running once he realizes his cell has been opened, so you’ll need to be quick.
Once you’ve dispatched of the prisoner, the Kingdom of Amalur: Re-Reckoning Out of Your League Trophy is yours!
