Red Dead Redemption 2‘s online component, Red Dead Online, got a little bit weirder today with the addition of vitalism. Vitalism, in the world of Red Dead Online, gives you the ability to transform into an animal. Yeah, that’s a pretty big deal.

Obviously, vitalism is a big part of this update, so you’ll be rewarded for partaking in it. If you can manage to pull off a buck transformation this week, you’ll be rewarded with a treasure map. And, if you have no idea how to pull off a buck transformation, check out my guide and then you will know how!
Of course, there’s a new legendary animal as well, the Legendary Shadow Buck. Like last week’s Legendary Milk Coyote (as well as the Legendary Banded Gator the week before), this one is available via a mission from Harriet.
There are additional limited-time rewards for catching the Legendary Shadow Buck as well, whether you go lethal or nonlethal. If you sedate and sample the animal, you will get your choice of vest for free, as well as 100 rounds of sedative ammo. If you skin the animal and sell its hide, however, you’ll get 100 rounds of Express repeater ammo.
Aside from that, there are some discounts in the Wheeler, Rawson & Co. catalog, but it doesn’t look like there are any new clothing items (besides the one Gus will make you if you sell him the Legendary Shadow Buck hide).
