I always found the secret tape in School II in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2 to be a surprisingly demanding challenge, especially since School II is only the second stage in the game. To get this tape, you’ll need to be really comfortable with so many of the game’s mechanics that it almost seems like this should have been one of the later levels.
Anyway, if you’re trying to get that secret tape in School II, I’ve got you covered. Note that this guide if for School II from Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2. Before you start, you should get your character’s stats up a bit. Having really high Speed and Ollie stats is essential in pulling this off. You’ll also want to make sure your Special Bar is full, because that gives an additional boost to speed.
Alright. So you ready now?
When you start the round, you’ll want to immediately take a right turn into the hall that has a rail in it. Grinding this rail and popping a trick into a manual is a good way to fill that Special Bar. Now, there’s a raised area in the center of the stage. You want to ride the ramp up to that area and hit the quarter-pipe as fast as you can. Do a trick on the pipe if you still need a bit more of your Special Bar filled.
When you touch back down, be ready to grind the rail to your right. This will help you preserve all that momentum you gained on the quarter-pipe. Hop off the rail and head toward the library, being careful to avoid the plants — they’ll slow you down, though admittedly not by very much. At the end of the raised area, as you’re heading toward the library, you’ll find a few steps, but there’s some plywood over part of them. Ride down the plywood, hit the planter, and then perform a boneless (up, up, X on PlayStation) off the tip of the planter.
If you’ve done all of this correctly, this should launch you on top of the roof of the library. If not, well, you can always try again.
Once you’re on the roof, you’ll need to hit the ramp on the opposite side (the right-hand ramp), but resist the temptation to jump here. Just ride off the ramp and you should hit the tape.
