Deiland: Pocket Planet

The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) is a masterpiece of children’s literature, written by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in French and “translated into 301 languages and dialects,” according to the Wikipedia entry.

The story’s eponymous Little Prince comes from an asteroid called B-612, where he spends his days raking out the tiny little volcanoes and caring for a rose. All he needs to do is move his chair a bit to watch a new sunrise or sunset, which is one of the perks of living on Asteroid B-612.

If you ever thought you’d like to experience that sort of relaxing lifestyle, then Deiland: Pocket Planet might be the game for you. This adorable Harvest Moon-like farming game takes place on a tiny little planet, not much larger than the Little Prince’s Asteroid B-612.

The game recently launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund a port to Nintendo Switch, and it met its initial goal within the first 24 hours. Stretch goals will be added to the campaign soon.

Deiland: Pocket Planet is currently available on PS4 and Steam, but the Nintendo Switch version is supposedly getting exclusive content. Now that it’s funded, the Switch version is due out in March of 2021.
