Today, October 9, marks the birthday of Xingqiu, one of Genshin Impact‘s many playable characters. Apparently, this is a big deal, as Xingqiu will send you some gifts to celebrate.
Simply log into your Genshin Impact account and check your in-game mail. You should have the following letter from Xingqiu.

Attached to this letter, you’ll find three Teachings of “Ballad” and a Countryside Delicacy.
The Countryside Delicacy is quite a lovely piece of food. In the flavor text, this is one of those meals that’s so pretty you might feel bad about eating it. However, it restores 26% max HP to your whole party, and gives you 570 HP every 5 seconds for 30 seconds. That’s a pretty decent meal to chow down on in the heat of an intense battle. Thanks, Xingqiu!
Now, I actually have Xingqiu as a playable character, so this message might be exclusive to people who have him in their roster. I can’t say for certain. If you don’t end up receiving any mail from him, fret not, for Xiangling’s birthday is coming up on November 2, Sucrose’s is on November 26, and Kaeya’s is on November 30. I imagine they’ll have letters of their own on those dates.
I think these tiny little birthday celebrations are a lovely touch that brings some believability to Genshin Impact‘s world, and I appreciate the amount of love miHoYo has put into this free-to-play title.
