Genshin Impact - Venti

I’m shaking right now. I just obtained Venti, one of Genshin Impact‘s most sought-after characters, in a free pull. On top of that, I scored Xiangling and Barbara in the same freaking pull. I’ve never seen more than one character in a pull, let alone three. This is baffling, bewildering, and super, super welcome.

In case you’re a bit confused, Genshin Impact features a gacha system that lets you make wishes for good stuff. You will spend either Acquaint Fate or Intertwined Fate to make a wish (you can read more about these currencies and more in my complete Genshin Impact currency guide). One Fate equals one wish, though you can bundle and buy ten wishes at a time to guarantee at least one four-star (or better) item. I always buy wishes in batches of ten, and I don’t think I’m alone in this.

Anyway, my Intertwined Fate had reached that glorious level of ten, so I readied myself for disappointment. I’ve made a lot of wishes in this game so far, and my luck has never been that great.

So when Xiangling showed up, I sort of shrugged my shoulders. I was about to earn her anyway as a limited-time bonus for completing the third floor of the Spiral Abyss dungeon, but having a copy would be handy (since additional copies of a character are converted into perks in a “Constellation” skill tree).

But then Barbara showed up. This is interesting, because, as I mentioned in the introductory paragraph, I’ve not yet seen more than one character in a ten-wish pull before. I already had Barbara, but she’s a healer so I use her a lot. Getting another star unlocked in her Constellation is a decent enough bonus for this pull, since it’s on top of getting a character that I didn’t have yet (a character I was about to earn anyway, of course).

But then the real magic happened. Venti showed up.

Genshin Impact - I Pulled Venti

Venti is a five-star character, which means he’s super rare, and he’s also ranked as an S-tier character. Yes, he’s in the godlike tier of Genshin Impact‘s character roster (which is appropriate, since he is actually a god, albeit a lazy one, in the game’s lore).

I was already planning on investing some serious grind time into this game, and now I have a top-tier character to grind. Looks like I’ll be busy today.

I’ve spent a grand total of $5 on this game so far. I purchased the Blessing of the Welkin Moon, which gave me 300 Genesis Crystals immediately, and it will also grant me 90 Primogems every day that I log in for 30 days. It seemed like a pretty good deal to me at the time.

So I’m not whaling Genshin Impact by any means. I just got a super, super, ludicrously lucky pull today, and I’m over the moon right now.
