I am definitely not a country person. It’s rare for me to venture too far outside the city that I live in. I want to be able to walk to coffee shops, restaurants, and other amenities. I don’t want to hear weird, creepy animal sounds outside my window. City life is the only life for me.

The opposite is true, however, when it comes to video games. I can’t get enough of games that ship you off to peaceful, secluded villages and ask you to grow crops and make friends. I’m all about virtually getting away from it all, which is why I’m pretty excited about Japanese Rural Life.

Japanese Rural Life (a temporary title) is designed to give players a taste of rural Japan. It features everything you’d expect to find in an agricultural sim, like fishing and farming, but it’s also meant to simulate life in Japan’s countryside. According to the developer, Game Start LLC, the game is filled with events that will immerse players in Japanese culture.

This isn’t Game Start LLC’s first venture into the world of farming games. They’re also the creators of Tiny Pixel Farm, an idle game that’s available for free on Android and iOS. Japanese Rural Life, however, looks to be a lot more complex. The screenshots and video that have been showcased on social media look absolutely lovely, There are four distinct seasons to enjoy, and you can even pet your dog.

Japanese Rural Life doesn’t have a release date just yet, but the developer intends to release the game on mobile devices and Nintendo Switch. This game looks like it will be perfect to chill out and relax with, and as a die-hard city dweller, I can’t wait to see more of it.

Best place to stay updated is their Twitter account. It doesn’t look like this one is out quite yet.
