How to Get to Jotunheim in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - Jotunheim

If you thought Norway and England were all Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has to offer, you thought wrong. You can also visit locations from Norse mythology, including Asgard and Jotunheim. I’ve already created a complete guide for getting to Asgard, so this guide will focus exclusively on Jotunheim.

In order to get to Jotunheim, you must first complete the entire story arc in Asgard. At the end of this arc, you open the door to Jotunheim, then wake up in Valka’s house, where all this began.

Valka isn’t done with you yet, though. You’ll need to get here some more plants: Fireweed and St. John’s Wort, to be specific.

In order to get these plants, you’ll have to take on the Cavern of Trials. Don’t worry, I’ve also created a full guide to the Cavern of Trials. Consult that if you need some guidance here.

Once you have the materials, return to Valka’s house and give them to her. She’ll make a second potion, which she’ll place on the table next to the Asgard potion. Drink that and your Jotunheim adventure will begin.

Jotunheim has a recommended power level of 190, and it seems bigger than Asgard to me (this might just be that less of the map is water so it feels bigger). There are 33 treasures here instead of 30, so maybe it is slightly bigger?

Unlike Asgard, you don’t need to complete any story quests in Jotunheim before you return to England. Simply select the eye-shaped icon on your map to bring up the “Wake up” option.

One thing I should point out here is that people are saying there are two missable treasures in Chapter 2 of the Jotunheim story, and missing them will allegedly bork your chances at getting the Completionist All the Way! Trophy/Achievement (for getting 100% completion in all locations). Create backup saves often and make sure you get all of the treasure in Chapter 2 if you don’t want to risk missing out on the Platinum Trophy here.

And that’s basically everything you need to know about getting to Jotunheim in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
