Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Is one horse not good enough for you? Are you the kind of person who dreams about having two identical-looking horses that stand side-by-side (even though you can only ride one at a time)? Then friend, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the game for you.

In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, there is a glitch where if you save and log out while you’re sitting on a horse, then close the game, there will be a second horse when you restart the game and load your save. This horse will usually look identical to the first, though not always.

I thought this was maybe a one-time thing, but it turns out, I can duplicate the problem semi-consistently. There are some limitations though. It doesn’t work if you’re close to a settlement or a fast-travel location, and it has to be one of the random horses you find/steal — it can’t be your own horse. It’s way, way easier to find random horses in Norway than in England, though I was able to get this to work in England as well.

Also, it seems limited to creating a single copy. I tried to duplicate a horse, then quit out and reload to create a third horse, but that doesn’t seem to work.

I’ve also had the game hard crash after switching from a duplicated horse to my own horse, though this only happened one time. Still it’s something to maybe think about if you’re planning on going on a horse-cloning spree like I did.

I should probably also point out that I’m playing on PS4, in case that makes any difference.

There really isn’t a point to doing any of this. I haven’t found any benefits of having a second horse in the game. You can’t sell them or anything like that. Still, I spent hours — no joke, hours — experimenting with this to see how it works. And the least I could do after all of this horse-cloning was to share this information with the world.
