Unto the End is a strange little game. It’s a cinematic 2D platformer in the vein of Limbo and Inside, yet it adds a rich and brutally difficult combat system on top of its side-scrolling storytelling. I’ve spent probably a dozen hours with the game at this point, and it’s been a wild ride that I’m glad to have experienced.
The art style is also lovely.
Anyway, Unto the End is out now, so you can get busy hacking apart snow beasts and cave-dwelling monsters today. Just don’t forget to do your sparring practice first!
The game is currently available on PC (via Steam, GOG, Humble, and Fanatical), Xbox One, PS4, and Stadia. It’s also available on Xbox and PC Game Pass. Nintendo Switch owners will have to wait a little longer, with the Switch version set to launch on December 17.
