The latest Sims 4 pack is filled with furnishings fit for a haunted house, but it also features several new hairstyles and outfits. If you’re trying to decide if this pack is worth picking up, this The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack CAS review will give you a look at what this spooky pack will add to your wardrobe.

Since this is a stuff pack, it doesn’t offer as many new pieces as a full-fledged expansion like The Sims 4: Snowy Escape does. While the selection is limited, the hairstyles in the pack are pretty solid. I’m an especially big fan of the baby hairs on the style pictured below.

The four hairstyles pictured above are the only new styles in the pack; there aren’t any additional hairstyles tagged as masculine. The four styles are also available for teen and child Sims. The textured style pictured above isn’t an option for toddlers, but the other three styles are.

In addition to hairstyles, there are a few new accessories. There’s a statement necklace available in several different swatches, and there are also some fedoras for Sims that are having a bad hair day.

While the pack is themed around the paranormal, the new clothing pieces have a strong 70s boho vibe. If you’re a fan of the CAS items in The Sims 4: Movie Hangout Stuff pack, you’ll probably appreciate the items here too.

If you look through the new clothing options, you’ll notice that a few pieces are locked. In order to access all the new CAS items, you’ll need to survive seven nights in one of the new Haunted House residential lots. (Alternatively, you can unlock everything instantly by using the CAS Unlock mod or searching for the items in the Gallery.)

There are plenty of swatches for the clothing pieces, from simple solids to beautiful patterns. You can see the same pattern repeated across different pieces, allowing you to create cute coordinated outfits.

I can definitely see myself spending a lot of time mixing and matching separates, but the clothing piece I see myself using the most is a long belted maxi dress. The solid black version is perfect for a casual goth look, while the floral patterns have a sweet and feminine vibe. It’s a really beautiful piece that looks like it could be custom content.

I wasn’t expecting this pack to contain any new footwear, but there are actually two new pairs of feminine shoes. There’s a pair of beaded sandals will go nicely with all of the new clothing in this pack, and there’s also a very cute pair of heeled Mary Janes. They look really similar to the Daria Treaded Shoes from Urban Outfitters, and I expect to use them on my Sims all the time.

The clothing options tagged as masculine have the same 70s bohemian vibe. Most of these pieces are bursting with personality. If you’re a fan of story play, you’ll probably have a lot of fun with this pack. It’s easy to come up with stories about the Sims that would wear these pieces.

Just like the pieces showcased above, there are plenty of swatches available. I appreciate that the bright colors and fun floral prints are available for the masculine pieces too.

There isn’t any new clothing for toddlers, and there’s only one full-size piece for Sims kids. While that’s a little bit of a disappointment, this is another piece that comes in many swatches. I suspect I’m going to be putting my young Sims in this outfit all the time.

If you’re a fan of Bohemian style, you’ll definitely want to take a closer look at The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack, even if you’re not a huge fan of occult gameplay. I’m really impressed by the quality of these new pieces; it feels like Maxis has really upped their game. While I’d always like to see more new content, I feel like this is pretty reasonable amount of options for a $10 pack.

Of course, this isn’t all that this pack has to offer! Once I’ve had more time with the pack, I’ll be back with an overview of the Build-and-Buy items and the new gameplay features. I’m really looking forward to going on some spooky adventures with my newly outfitted Sims!
