Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is one of Half-Glass Gaming’s most anticipated games of 2021, and I personally can’t wait to submerge myself in its ludicrously endless grind. Until today, however, we didn’t know when it would be arriving (aside from the vague “summer 2021” release window).

A new trailer for Disgaea 6 landed today, and it mentions a specific June 29 release date for Nintendo Switch.

On top of this, we got a look at some of the bonus content we can expect to see in the game when it launches in the West. Keep in mind that the game has been out since January in Japan, so this “bonus content” is stuff that’s been added since then.

Four bonus characters were shown in the trailer, and each comes to the game (for free at launch) with their own story content:

  • Adell from Disgaea 2
  • Rozalin from Disgaea 2
  • Girl Laharl, the gender-swapped version of Laharl from the original Disgaea
  • Asagi from… well, it’s complicated, but her first appearance was in Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome

You can check out the release date trailer for Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny (complete with an introduction by Nippon Ichi Software President Souhei Niikawa) below.
