If you were a fan of the Time Mage job in the first Bravely Default, you’re going to have a lot of fun with the Oracle job. From speeding up your party members to slowing down your enemies, time manipulation is the Oracle’s specialty. The Oracle can also serve as a mimic. Once the class is fully leveled, Oracles can copy the stats and weapon proficiencies of whatever sub-job you happen to have equipped. This means an Oracle can fill the role a tank, a healer, or a damage-dealer.

You’ll unlock the Oracle job near the end of Chapter Three, while playing through the game’s main story. To earn the job, you must defeat Rimedhal’s corrupt archbishop, Domenic. Domenic has some abilities that are hard to deal with, so you’ll want to make sure you put together a strong party before you take him on.

Domenic can protect himself against magical attacks thanks to his Reflect ability, so you won’t want to rely on your magic users to dish out damage. Instead, you’ll want to depend on other damage-dealing classes like Thief, Dragoon, or Gambler. A Spiritmaster/White Mage combo can keep everyone healed up, and a Shieldmaster or Vanguard can handle tanking.

In addition to choosing the right jobs, you’ll want to make sure you have the right accessories equipped. Domenic can use Stop against your party members, but you can prevent this with the Sands of Time accessory. You can’t purchase it at this point in the game, but you can obtain two copies of this accessory from chests around Rimedhal. Make sure you equip your healer with this accessory. That way, they can heal up anyone else that gets stopped.

Domenic is good at avoiding damage, and he’s even better at dealing it. When he has 3 BP stored, he’ll hit you with several Triplagas in a row, which can lead to a party wipe. The best way to protect yourself again these attacks is to cast Reraise on your party, or to have a Dragoon jump in the air to avoid the attack entirely. Pay close attention to Doemnic’s BP so that you’ll know when these attacks are coming.

The fight against Domenic can be a tough one, but your reward — the Oracle Asterisk — is worth it. Once the job is fully mastered, you’ll be able to cast Hastega on your party, giving you an edge against your opponents. It’s also incredibly versatile, which means it can be an asset in virtually any boss point. Make sure you farm some JP so that you can start using this job right away!
