No More Heroes

The oh-so-quirky No More Heroes 3 is on Half-Glass Gaming’s list of most anticipated games of this year. The first two games, which originally released on Wii, have become cult classics at this point, and I’m curious to see what direction Suda51 and crew take the wacky and weird story of Travis Touchdown this time around.

If you want to catch up on the franchise, No More Heroes and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle are both available on the eShop for Nintendo Switch. But if you have a little bit of patience, you’ll be able to grab physical versions of both of these must-play action titles, thanks to Limited Run Games.

Note: This is not to be confused with Hero Must Die. Again, which is also getting a physical release by Limited Run. Both games have Hero in the title, so I can’t fault anyone for finding this a little bit confusing.

No More Heroes

Since Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes already has a physical cartridge, and it’s probably safe to assume No More Heroes 3 will get one too (Target already has a physical release up for pre-order), physical editions of No More Heroes 1 and 2 will let you complete your collection.

If you’ve never heard of No More Heroes and you do a quick Google search, you’re going to see words and phrases like stylish, sleazy, and over-the-top used to describe it. And all of those are accurate, but the thing that makes No More Heroes so great is how much fun it has — sometimes at the players’ expense. This is a brilliant series that’s unapologetically weird and distasteful, yet extremely enjoyable.

Pre-orders haven’t opened yet for the physical versions of these games (they’re marked as “Coming Soon” on the Limited Run website), but they should be opening sometime this week. Keep your eyes on Half-Glass Gaming because we’ll share the news when those pre-orders open.

And yes, they’re getting collector’s editions with steelbooks.

In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for No More Heroes 3, which includes the announcement for the Switch ports of No More Heroes 1 and 2.
