Mortal Shell is fantastic. For anyone who adores the meticulous gameplay, atmosphere, and environmental lore of the Dark Souls games, Mortal Shell should be the very next thing you play after you’ve been through FromSoftware’s lineup.
It was announced today that Mortal Shell has sold more than 500,000 copies. While that’s quite an achievement, this is a game that should be selling way more than that.
Seriously, if you haven’t checked out Mortal Shell yet, you need to do that immediately. It’s smaller than your average Souls game, but it’s best when enjoyed slowly anyway. It features some really great lute tunes and some super-creepy costumes (ever since the Rotten Autumn update). Plus, an upscaled version is now available on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X.
There’s no reason to keep holding off on this. It’s a true modern classic.
