The second expedition is now live in No Man’s Sky. Beachhead launched today (May 17), and it’s running for two weeks (ending on May 31). Ambitious Interlopers will have to really rush to get through all of the challenges this time, it seems.
Of course, there is a whole bunch of stuff to make this easier for you. For example, you start off with several resources that will give you a head start over a traditional Normal Mode game file. You’ll have the advanced mining laser right off the bat, and you’ll even have a pre-built portable refiner in your inventory. You can craft an Exocraft almost immediately, and you even have a freighter already (accessible as soon as you get off your first planet).
Note that you’ll also be able to use any rewards you’ve unlocked from the previous expedition (including the Golden Vector starship), as well as any Twitch rewards you might have unlocked while that whole promotion was active.
And the final reward for the Beachhead expedition is the Normandy from Mass Effect, only it’s now a frigate in the No Man’s Sky universe. If you want to check out the specs for that, I did a full writeup.
I’ve also compiled a complete list of Beachhead Milestones, followed by their rewards. Keep in mind that each milestone needs to be manually turned in, and each phase also needs to be manually turned in once you’ve turned in all of that phase’s milestones.
To claim a reward, go into the Expedition tab in your menu, put the cursor over the milestone badge, and press the action button (X on PS4/PS5).
