Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX

Video game releases are pushed back all the time. In fact, Monster Harvest, one of our most anticipated games of 2021 has been delayed a few times now.

But Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX, the modern remake of the famous 1986 platformer, is doing the exact opposite of that — this game is releasing early. Originally slated for a June 24 release, the game has now been moved up to a June 22 launch date.

Sure, it’s only getting moved by two days, but Alex Kidd’s return can’t come soon enough, if you ask me. And besides, the original version of the game is 35 years old at this point — the wait on this remake hasn’t exactly been a short one.

To celebrate the new, earlier release date, a brand-new trailer has been unveiled.

With Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World releasing earlier this year, and Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX releasing in just a few weeks, this is a really great time to be a the very specific type of retro gamer who loves 2D platformers and also has some modern gaming sensibilities.

Alex Kidd in Miracle World DX is coming to PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch.
