No Man’s Sky recently added manageable colonies in the Frontiers update, with the promise that the third expedition, Cartographers, was just around the corner. Well, that corner has been turned, friends, and the Cartographers expedition is live. It started September 8, 2021, and runs for roughly six weeks.
This one is a little bit different than its galaxy-spanning forebears, as it focuses on a single planet, Gisto Major. Instead of flinging yourself across the expanse of space, you’ll be exploring and colonizing this one planet.
Of course, there are tons of rewards, which you’ll log in the Expedition tab of your menu. You will have to claim each milestone manually, and when you complete a phase, you’ll need to turn in that manually as well (on top of already turning in all of the individual milestones). You do that by simply hovering the cursor over that milestone’s badge, then holding the X button (on PS4/PS5).
