Deathloop - Eat the Rich Tribunal

When you glance at the list of bonuses that come with the Deluxe Edition of Deathloop, it’s tempting to write them off as nonessentials. You’ve got some character skins, some Trinkets (equippable perks), and some fancier versions of the game’s weapons. It certainly doesn’t seem worth the $20.

Here’s a list in case you want to see for yourself:

  • Transtar Trencher Weapon
  • Eat the Rich Tribunal Weapon
  • .44 Karat Fourpounder Weapon
  • “Party Crasher” Colt Skin
  • “Sharp Shooter” Julianna Skin
  • Two Trinkets (equippable buffs)
  • Original Game Soundtrack Selections

What’s not clear from the advertising, though, is that the Eat the Rich Tribunal is one of the best weapons in the game. It’s tempting to think of it as simply a golden version of the standard Tribunal, but the thing that makes this sucker pop is the fact that it’s got a suppressor.

Deathloop - Eat the Rich Tribunal

Suppressed weapons are extremely rare in Deathloop — I only know of one more off the top of my head — but they completely change the way you play the game. Once I started using this golden gal, I began playing Deathloop like it’s Hitman, sneaking around while popping off enemies with well-timed headshots. And speaking of Hitman, this gun is basically the Deathloop equivalent of the Krugermeier 2-2 pistol.

Yes, enemies will occasionally be alerted if you take down someone who’s too close to them, but with the Eat the Rich Tribunal, it won’t be the sound of the weapon that gives you away. In fact, I often take out an enemy that’s standing almost shoulder-to-shoulder with another one, without alerting the second enemy.

So this gun is a game-changer. In fact, I use it for everything except for Julianna encounters and Visionary battles. I’ve gotten so used to suppressed weapons at this point that I sometimes forget that enemies can typically hear gunshots. I’ll carelessly fire off a shotgun blast, then be surprised that I ended up alerting all the guards in the area.

Now, if you don’t want to shell out an extra $20 to get this one gun, there are a couple other options. I’ve heard tell that enemies will sometimes drop a version of the Tribunal that has the Suppressor perk equipped. I’ve never seen this happen, mind you, but there are rumors going around that this is something you might find. (Update: I did find a suppressed Tribunal, but it was Julianna who dropped it.)

I’ve also been able to find a special purple version of the LIMP-10 with a suppressor. I can’t say exactly where I found it, because I think it might have been a random enemy drop (though I honestly don’t remember for sure).

If you end up picking up a silenced weapon, you’ll want to make sure you Infuse it as soon as possible (though if you get the Eat the Rich Tribunal as a Deluxe Edition bonus, it will come pre-Infused so you won’t have to worry about losing it).

I don’t know what possessed me to purchase the Deluxe Edition over the regular version of the game, but I’m kind of glad I did because I honestly can’t imagine playing Deathloop without the Eat the Rich Tribunal.
