Forza Horizon 5

In Forza Horizon 5, there is an achievement called Matryoshka, which asks you to “Unlock a car from the Car Mastery Tree of another car.” What on earth does that mean? Well, I’ll walk you through it. Actually earning the achievement is a bit of work, but you will get a free Megane R.S. Renault for your efforts.

Every car in the game has a Car Mastery menu, which you should be very familiar with if you’ve put any time at all into Forza Horizon 5. This lets you invest skill points into different bonuses for each car. There’s a small amount of cars that actually have bonuses that straight-up unlock another car. So in order to get the achievement, you need to find one of those specific cars, then invest enough skill points into it to unlock the bonus.

I’ll talk you through the specific cars in just a bit, but first…

How to earn skill points fast

Forza Horizon 5

You will earn skill points for performing skill combos with your preferred vehicle. Note that your skill points are not locked to a single car, so you can earn them in your favorite car then spend them on whichever other car you want.

For me, the fastest way to do this is to go out into the desert on the western edge of the map with a fast offroad car, then floor it. You should be getting Kangaroo bonuses for getting air, Landscaping bonuses for running over shrubs, Smactus bonuses for smashing through cacti, and more. As long as you don’t crash, you’ll keep earning points and increasing your score multiplier. If you can get a Score Song to pop, this will double your score, giving you the chance to easily pull off 250,000-point combos and higher.

Honestly, once you get a feel for earning skill points, it’s really not that difficult. In fact, during Skill Songs, I can oftentimes earn 8 or more skill points in a single combo. So earning all these points won’t take nearly as long as you’d expect.

Okay, so let’s look at the cars you can use to unlock the Matryoshka achievement:
