Internet Cafe Simulator 2

In Internet Cafe Simulator 2, you’ll encounter a character who’s simply referred to as the Beggar. This character will often have a yellow marker over his head that lets you know he’s ready to give you a quest. One of those quests requires you to bring him three baseball bats. It sounds easy enough, but there are a couple steps that the game never really explains to you.

So here’s a complete guide to solving the baseball bat quest in Internet Cafe Simulator 2.

Internet Cafe Simulator 2

First of all, before you can to accept the quest, you’ll have to do a few things. When the Beggar comes to you and asks you for $100, you need to give it to him. The following day, he should ask you to beat up a guy wearing a shirt that says “Family” on it. You’ll need to do this as well. The day after that, he’ll ask you for $200, and you’ll have to give it to him. Then, finally, the day after that, he should ask you to get three baseball bats for him.

Now, I spent a ridiculous amount of time scouring the city for baseball bats, assuming this was a simple “find X object” quest. That’s not the case; you’ll have to buy the baseball bats. They cost $40 each, and you can find them at the Second Hand Shop near your apartment. Here it is on the map:

The thing is, you can’t hold three baseball bats at the same time. Instead, you’ll need to place them in your inventory. But before you can do that, you’re going to have to buy a backpack. Backpacks are also for sale at the Second Hand Shop.

Once you’ve acquired a backpack, you’ll need to equip it by pressing the I key on your keyboard (which opens your inventory). You’ll want to drag the backpack from your hand slot to your backpack slot.

Note that your cheapest option here is the Basic Backpack, which costs $475. It only contains two inventory slots, but that’s all you need. Buy a baseball bat, then press I to open your inventory. If the backpack is equipped, you should be able to move the bat from your hand to one of your backpack slots by dragging them to the desired slot (the same way you equipped your backpack). If you have the Basic Backpack, you can fill both inventory slots, then hold the third bat in your hand. If you have one of the more expensive variations, you can place all three in your backpack if you’d like to.

When you have three baseball bats on you, you should be able to talk to the Beggar and turn in the quest. Now, after you spent all that hard-earned cash getting all your ducks in a row ($555 at the very least, and that’s only if you buy the cheapest backpack and give up the baseball bat that you have in your café by default), the Beggar apologizes and tells you that he doesn’t have any money. At least you got a backpack out of the deal, right?

Now, don’t get too mad at the Beggar. You’ll need to complete this quest in order to move onto the next one, which should be available the following day and will reward you with $400.

One thing I found to be particularly annoying about this quest is that it seems like if you save and then quit the game in the middle of the quest, once you load back in, the stuff that you bought is gone but so is the money you bought it with. This can be devastating in the early game, so once you start this quest, make sure you see it through to the end before you exit the game.

Also, if you drop your backpack on the floor and then exit the game, the backpack will have disappeared once you load back in. Make sure you have it equipped before you save and exit.

Yes, Internet Cafe Simulator 2 is a janky game, but at least there are some workarounds to these particular issues.
