Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking

I have always had a soft spot for lockpicking in video games — when it’s done right, that is. From The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the original Hitman 2, I have been picking locks in games for decades. By and far this is my favorite video-game minigame, although I do enjoy the computer hacking in the Fallout games as a close second.

But sometimes I don’t want to just fire up a huge RPG — or even a medium-sized game — just to pick a few locks. As it turns out, there is a better way.

Enter Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking. This is a collection of lockpicking minigames from over the years, recreating the systems from games both new and old to give you the chance to unlock to your heart’s content. Feel like doing a little Thief lockpicking? Or maybe some Deus Ex? Lord knows I do. Now I can pick as many locks of various types until they lock me away in an asylum for going lockpicking crazy!

Right now you can nab a copy on Steam for 10% off before January 20, 2022. But even at its non-discounted price of $10, this seems like a reasonable ask.

If you want an idea of what lies in store in Museum of Mechanics: Lockpicking, you can check out the announcement trailer below.
