Infernax is a brutally difficult game, but it also features cheat codes that will make it easier. Take, for instance, the classic Konami code, which can be entered on the title screen of Infernax. Don’t remember the code? It’s up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start. (If you’ve forgotten this code, you’re probably not an ’80s kid.)
I should point out that I’ve been playing this on PS5, which doesn’t have A and B buttons. The code instead is up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, O, X.
Once you successfully enter this code, you will start Infernax with 30 lives, a machine gun, and a stylish flippy jump. Yeah, this basically turns the game into the 1987 NES classic Contra.
It also changes your character name to Maxime Gunn, which is odd, because that’s one letter longer than the character limit when you can manually name your character. I suppose you could remove the second N from Gunn or remove the space between the two words…
Anyway, this is an incredible Easter egg in an incredible game. I’ve already beaten the game twice (via the magic of early review copies), but I’m going to do it again because of this code. And probably at least one more time after that, because the game is so much fun.
Infernax releases on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2022. You can check out a trailer that shows the Konami code in action below.
If i choose evil path using maxime gunn, does it will change the weapon just like alcedor change his mace to longsword? Thanks for answer
It will be the same weapons and the same armor.
I can’t put it to work. Is this code exclusive for controllers? I’m trying with the keyboard. But whenever I press anything other than the Directionals it gets out of the title screen.
Another question…is it used on the Title Screen or Main Menu?
You might want to test it with a controller. I’m not sure what keys would map to A and B in the code. On PlayStation, you just have to swap O with B and X with A and it works just fine.
You input it at the title screen before you start the game.
