Infernax has five main endings (and a few “bonus” endings). There’s The Path of the Wretch (evil), The Path of the Martyr (good), The Path of Evil (ultimate evil), and The Path of Righteous (ultimate good). Aside from the bonus Path of Submission (for becoming Robert’s apprentice instead of seeing the ultimate evil playthrough to its conclusion), the Path of Redemption (for returning to good after turning evil), and the Path of the Coward (for starting a new game, killing the crucified, then immediately returning back to the boat), there’s one more to talk about: The Path of the Future.
To get the Path of the Future ending in Infernax, you’ll need to travel to the future and defeat Azazel. Before you can do that, though, you’ll need to have your Demonology book filled to a certain point. I’m not sure what the exact percentage is that triggers this final ending, but you should have your book reasonably filled if you’ve completed both an Ultimate Good and an Ultimate Evil playthrough. If this isn’t quite enough, you can do a regular Good or regular Evil playthrough (you won’t ever fight Belphegor if you have the Necronomicon).
So here’s how to do that:
- Ultimate Good – Here’s an insanely detailed guide.
- Good – Basically a normal playthrough. Follow the Ultimate Good path, but stop before you get the Necronomicon.
- Ultimate Evil – Here’s a complete guide to Ultimate Evil.
- Evil – You must follow the Ultimate Evil path until you turn evil (when you get a new set of gear), and then complete the game as normal, without getting the Necronomicon.
As you can see, the difference between a regular playthrough and an “ultimate” one is the Necronomicon. If you get the Necronomicon while on the path of good, you’ll get the ultimate good ending, and if you get it while on the path of evil, you’ll get the ultimate evil ending. Make sense?
Oh, and if you want to see exactly how to get the Path of Submission bonus ending, I have a section about it toward the end of my ultimate evil guide. I’ve also posted a guide for the Path of Drowsiness and the Path of the Coward, so check that out for two more bonus endings. I also did a full guide for the Path of Redemption, so you can check that one out too.
Okay, so once you’ve finished at least the Ultimate Good and Ultimate Evil endings, you can return to Gregor and talk to him again. Remember how he kept saying that you needed to learn more about demonology before you could defeat the ultimate evil? Well, when you have your Demonology book mostly filled, he will finally say you’re ready.
If you’ve completed an Ultimate Good playthrough, you should already be familiar with Gregor’s location, but if you’ve forgotten it, it’s right here:
So now you need to have the Necronomicon in your inventory. If you still have your Ultimate Good save file (which should have autosaved right before the final dungeon), you can just load that up and go talk to Gregor. I’ve heard people say that this also works in the Ultimate Evil path, so long as you have the Necronomicon in your inventory, but I haven’t tested that to be certain.
Anyway, if you meet all these conditions, Gregor will give you a gift and send you into the future to fight Azazel. This section of the game isn’t extremely difficult, but it’s a lot of fun and a nice change of pace from the rest of the game (though it will be somewhat familiar already if you’ve used the Konami code).
When you complete this section of the game, you should get the Path of the Future ending, as well as the Madness at the Core of Time Trophy/Achievement.
If you’ve made it this far, you really are a true master of Infernax. Congratulations!
Wrong there are in fact 7 endings, You forgot the path of redemption
Oh wow, you are correct. I have edited the guide to reflect that.
The ability to fight Azazel might be tied to filling the Demonology book or something because I was able to do it without getting the Path of the Martyr ending. Just Evil, Ultimate Good, & Ultimate Evil. That said, I also didn’t kill Faceless One til after Azazel.
Oh wow. I wasn’t able to get to Azazel until I completed all four. That could have partially been because I did the good endings first, and Gregor doesn’t want to help you if you’re on the evil path.
I will say that if you’ve completed all four main endings, you should have also filled out almost all of your Demonology book (minus the stuff you will only get in the Azazel ending). So if you follow this guide, you will still be able to see the Azazel ending, whether the prerequisite is endings or Demonology. Gregor does suggest that it’s your knowledge of demonology that will make you ready for the final battle. But you also can’t substantially fill out your Demonology book without getting the more difficult endings.
Honestly, I wonder if you really only need to get ultimate good + ultimate evil to trigger the Azazel ending…
You also missed the path of the coward. Kill the first monster, talk to your boat captain, say yes. Lol
I did! I updated the guide to reflect this now. I wonder if there are more endings that I missed!
The path of Drowsiness
Ooh, I didn’t get this one. Any chance you could tell me how to get it? Thanks!
you need to sleep for 3 full days straight
Thank you!
I posted a guide for this now, because I couldn’t find it anywhere. Gave you a shoutout!
Here it is:

I just posted a guide for two more Infernax endings. Gave you a shoutout for pointing me in the direction of the Path of Drowsiness. Here’s the guide:

You made a great work. Thank you.
I’ve posted a guide for two more endings. I gave you a shoutout for pointing me in the direction of the Path of the Coward ending. Here’s the guide:

How do you get the path of redemption?
Path of Redemption is tricky. You have to be just evil enough to turn evil, but still have enough good things you can do to turn back. So do like 3 evil things, then turn evil, then do as many of the good things as you possibly can (being evil locks you out of a lot of them). You will finish the game as “evil,” but if you’ve done enough good things, the game will still consider you good and give you the Path of Redemption ending.
This one is difficult to do a full guide for, because the morality system is invisible and it’s hard to know when you’ve done enough to be considered good. Plus, I’ve been through the entire game like 8 times at this point, and I’m not sure I want to do more runs to chronicle the exact process, haha.
It’s not so easy way.
In the first evil part you can read absolute evil guide to find how to make evil quests.
1. You need to “help Paimon”
2. Get all quests in Darsov but don’t do it now!
List of quests to get:
– Cure Genevieve’s husband
– Help Josephine with her skeleton problem
– Monster from a barn
3. Get bribe in quest: Bandits from the Valeshire Bridge
4. Make friends with the vagabonds: destroy a book, have a drink with them.
5. Get “Paimon’s return” quest (make it later at point 17)
6. Go to the inn and talk with Phillipe. He’ll give the password to the cultist hideout just above Arkos.
7. Go to the hideout and get quest “kill Hans”. Make it.
8. Get in the hideout quest to “teleport Jarvis” but don’t do it now! (official name of quest “First summoning”)
In the absolute evil guide it’s marked with phrase “This is the point at which you officially turn to the dark side.”
You should turn to good now 🙂 (You can read the absolute good guide. I copied key phrases and quests titles from it.)
9. Make “Monster from a barn” quest.
10. Don’t break the dam.
11. Cure Genevieve’s husband
12. Kill the monster in Danielle’s basement
13. Cleanse Michael’s dream world
14. Help with the exorcism
15. Donate to the church
16. Don’t burn the villages
17. Kill Paimon again
18. Help Caroline with her skeleton problem
19. Help to Wilfred from the quest “Help the soldiers in Arkos”
20. After it you can get the second quest “Help the soldiers in Arkos” – “spy on some cultists”. Make it.
21. Cure Genevieve’s husband
You should be in the point where you can’t get anymore quests. You are too good for cultists. You are to evil for soldiers.
I’ll attach quest log images to this reply as other replies so you can check it.
It is the only one quest won’t be finished at this moment – First summoning.
Video which I looked said “you should save”. I’m not sure it’s really needed, but you can. 🙂
Finish First summoning quest.
Return to the Urzon Citadel for the final confrontation.
Questlog part1
Questlog part2
Questlog part3
The full guide is done.

I gave you credit, but I also broke away from your guide in a few really important ways.
Thanks again!
I wrote short guide in the reply branch to Josh. I think he can compile it to real guide. But you can read it write now. It is without images and maybe not well structured but you can make it.
This is fantastic work! If I have time, I will compile this into a broader guide this week.
I have one idea I’ve been meaning to test out, where you use the jetpack or infinite jumps cheats to get the Holy spell in the very beginning of the game. This would allow you to complete the Genevieve’s husband quest early and get the “good points” for that one.
