Coromon - Buzzlet Lab

When you make it out to Donar Island in Coromon, you’ll find a quest called “Buzzlet Delivery,” which asks you to collect four Buzzlets with a Potential of 15 or higher. It can be a little confusing at first, so I’ll walk you through the whole thing.

I should point out here that at one point in development, this quest couldn’t be started until you’d defeated the Titan Voltgar. That is no longer true — you can now grab this quest as long as you’ve made it to Donar Island.

The quest giver is named Joseph, and you can find him in the Buzzlet Lab (where you meet Nikola as part of the main story). Joseph is located in the northern section of the building, in an area that looks like a mine with a whole bunch of Buzzlets in it (shown below).

Coromon - Joseph

To aid you in this quest, Joseph will give you an item called the Potential Reader. This lets you scan your Coromon to see what their Potential is. To use the Potential Reader, you’ll need to open the Items section of your menu, then navigate to the Key Items submenu (this is where you’d find the Handbooks and Gadgets). Select the Potential Reader, then press the “Use” button. This will bring up your current party of Coromon.

Coromon - Potential Reader

Once here, just select the Coromon you want to scan, and the device will check for that Coromon’s Potential. Note that once you scan a Coromon, its Potential will now show up in the Summary menu. If you quit out of the game, this does seem to go away. I’m not sure if this is a game bug or not (it certainly seems like one), but as long as you don’t quit out of the game, this scan should be permanently revealed.

Coromon - Potential

Okay, now that you have the Potential Reader, it’s time to farm some Buzzlets. Thankfully, there’s a great spot to farm them not too far from the Buzzlet Lab. There are a whole bunch inside the Thuderous Cave (which you’ll need to enter as part of the “Titan Taskforce” main story quest). It’s located to the east of the Buzzlet Lab, along the beach.

Coromon - Thunderous Cave

Inside, you’ll find plenty of Buzzlets. Every time you manage to capture one, simply use the Potential Reader to see if you got one at 15 or above. Yes, you’re going to burn through a whole lot of Spinners on this quest.

I should point out here that it’s excruciatingly rare to find a Buzzlet with a Potential that high. It is possible, but you’re going to get a lot of low-Potential Buzzlets in the meantime. Thankfully, there’s a way to increase the potential of your Coromon.

You’ll need to visit Oleg, who works on the upper floor of the trainer hub. To find him, go inside the trainer hub (the building with the green cross on the front), then go toward the counter where you’d normally heal your Coromon.

Coromon - Escalator

From here, turn right and go up the escalator. On the next floor, you’ll find Oleg in the upper right-hand corner of the room.

Coromon - Oleg

Oleg has a device called the Potentiflator, which can increase the Potential of a Coromon. Of course, this comes at a cost — 2,500 gold, to be exact. It ain’t cheap. However, this could save you hours and hours of grinding in Thunderous Cave, so it’s probably worth it. Probably.

Note that this will usually increase the Potential of the Coromon by 2-3 points, so you’ll only want to give Oleg Coromon that already have a potential of 12 or higher (or 13 to be on the safe side). Also, he’ll only Potentiflate a Coromon that’s in your party, so make sure your Buzzlet is part of the team before you approach Oleg.

One last thing to note: The Potentiflation process takes some time. You’ll give Oleg a Buzzlet, then you’ll have to return later to pick it up. He’ll send you a text message (which you’ll receive on your phone) when your Buzzlet is ready. Your phone is located in the same menu as your Potential Reader, in case you haven’t used it yet.

Coromon - Message from Oleg

Now, for the rest of the quest…

You don’t need to hold onto all four Buzzlets at the same time — Joseph will accept them one at a time, which prevents you from needing to fill 2/3 of your party with Buzzlets for trade. Once you’ve handed him the fourth one, the quest will be completed and you’ll have your reward.

What do you get for completing this quest? Well, Joseph will give you a Fear Disc and a Magnet Hat. The Fear Disc is a pretty cool item that attracts Coromon that aren’t at full health. That means you’ll start battles (in the wild) with your opponent’s health reduced. It only seems to work if the item is held by the Coromon in the first slot in your party, and even then it only works a percentage of the time. Still, it’s a nice way to potentially shave off a little health to shorten your fights.

The Magnet Hat is a wearable item that allows you to magnet gold away from your opponents. Note that it only works on enemies that would normally give you gold, which includes trainers and enemies that use stealing moves on you.

And there you have it! That’s how you complete Buzzlet Delivery in Coromon. Shine bright, fellow trainer!
