If you’re into light armor and you want to look really stylish in Elden Ring, you could do a lot worse than the Guardian set. This gear has some pretty decent stats for an early-game light armor set, and it’s not super difficult to farm.
This set includes:
- Guardian Mask
- Guardian Garb
- Guardian Bracers
- Guardian Greaves
- Guardian’s Swordspear
To start this little farming project, you’ll want to fast travel to the Tombsward Catacombs Site of Grace on the Weeping Peninsula.
Now, instead of running deeper into the catacombs, head out the exit and make your way to the right (east). You’ll see a thicket of bushes and trees, as well as a glowing mushroom. Once you get to the other side of the thicket, three Erdtree Guardians will come up out of the ground.
After you’ve taken down those three, you can head north just a little further until you see a small patch of bushes. A fourth Guardian should come out of the ground there.
I’m sure all that instruction seems a little vague, so here’s a video of me doing this run:
It’s best to do this during the day, because at night there are some ethereal jellyfish that hover just outside the catacombs. They’re not difficult, but if you decide to engage them, you’ll slow down this run (and they’ll only drop 15 runes per kill, which is hardly worth the effort).
Also, if you circle back toward the Minor Erdtree and climb up the rocks near the first group of Guardians, there’s a fifth one up there. However, I find it faster to skip that one and just farm the four shown in the video.
My Discovery stat is at 109.0, and I found that these guys drop a piece of the set about one time per every eight to ten kills. That means you could be farming this for a while before everything drops. At the same time, this is a much quicker farm than, say, the Fire Monk armor set, since there are four (or five) enemies to kill instead of just one. As an added bonus, these guys occasionally drop Tarnished Golden Sunflowers (though this is certainly not the most efficient way to farm these — especially considering there are a whole bunch near the Minor Erdtree).
Also, this is really close to a good farming spot for the Mausoleum Armor set, so you could make your way over there once you complete your Guardian set if you’re interested in having that set too.
So how about stats? Well, this is light armor, so it leans away from physical damage negation, but its resistances against magic are a lot better than what you’d expect from a heavy armor set (like the Banished Knight set)
