So many armor sets, so little time!
If you’ve been rocking the Godrick Soldier gear in Elden Ring and you feel like it’s probably time to upgrade, you might want to check out the Leyndell Soldier set. This set feels like a natural progression upward from the Godrick Soldier set — it has a similar aesthetic and slightly better stats. However, this is a mid-game set, so it’s not for those just starting out.
The set includes:
- Leyndell Soldier Helm
- Erdtree Surcoat
- Leyndell Soldier Gauntlets
- Leyndell Soldier Greaves
- Lordsworn’s Straight Sword
- Brass Shield
The drop rate is pretty low, but I found an absolutely perfect spot to farm for this stuff. The starting point is way up at the northern tip of the Atlus Plateau, at a place called the Road of Iniquity Side Path.
If you’ve not been to the Atlus Plateau yet, there are two ways to get there:
- The Grand Lift of Ductus
- The Ruin-Strewn Precipice
The Grand Lift is the easier route, as the Ruin-Strewn Precipice is a long and winding climb filled with enemies, and there’s a tough boss fight at the end of it (Magma Wyrm Makar). I recommend the Grand Lift for sure.

As for the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, you’ll find it at the edge of a long ravine that cuts northeast off of the northern edge of Liurnia of the Lakes.
Now, you don’t even need to make your way all the way up the the location, because there is a portal that will take you there located right next to the Forest-Spanning Greatbridge Site of Grace. And this location is much easier to get to if you simply follow the road north of the Great Lift.
Anyway, once you’ve arrived at the Path of Iniquity Side Path, follow the road southwest and you’ll come upon a convoy. You really can’t miss it because there are tons of soldiers here, and the location they start from is really close to the Site of Grace.
If you can deal ranged damage (I use my beloved Glintstone Pebble), you can pick these guys off one at a time, as you follow the convoy down the road. There will also be small groups of soldiers on either side of the road, and you can pick these guys off too. The only enemy here that will give you any trouble at all is the Pumpkin Head, but even he goes down pretty easily if you just pelt him with magic from afar. Just watch out for his brutal smash combos.
One great thing about this path is that if you clear the roaming groups of soldiers on the sides of the road, your flasks will keep refilling themselves, meaning you can just unleash your magic like mad without worrying about it drying up. And, at the very end of the run, I like to take out the two trolls that are chained to the wagon, because each one drops 2,240 ruins, and they don’t put up a fight so long as you keep your distance (otherwise they’ll try to stomp on you).
And if you loot the carriage, you’ll get the Great Stars, a giant spiked mace.

Of all these enemies, it’s the Leyndell Soldiers that you’re looking for. They’re the ones who are wearing the gear set, so if you know what it looks like, they’re easy to spot.
The drop rate is pretty low for all of this stuff, and it took me several runs before I had all of it. Thankfully, this is a really great place to farm runes, and these guys often drop Smithing Stones [1], [4], and [5].
