Sony really started of their March State of Play with a head-scratcher. The first trailer shown off at this digital presentation was for Exoprimal by Capcom. It starts off with a weather report that predicts a high chance of dinosaurs, and things just get even more bonkers from there.
This is a world where a portal could open up in the sky at any moment, and just pour dinosaurs onto the city. So obviously, someone needs to clean that mess up, right? And that’s where you come in.
The general gameplay loop looks like it will have you dawning a suit that you borrowed from Metroid‘s Samus Aran, and then clean the streets of dinosaurs using high-powered weaponry. It very much reminds me of a blend of Turok: Dinosaur Hunter and the absurdly over-the-top Earth Defense Force series.
This could be absolutely incredible, and it could also be ridiculously terrible. It’s really hard to say at this early point in time, but I honestly wouldn’t mind some mindless dino-killing. I’ll be keeping my eye on this one.
