Wreckfest - Nintendo Switch

If you have an Xbox console and Game Pass, you might be familiar with Wreckfest, a destruction-derby-slash-racing game in the tradition of the old Destruction Derby games. Half-Glass Gaming’s own Morgan McCandless played it on Xbox Series S and called it “a whole lot of smish-smash, crish-crash fun.”

However, if you’re a Nintendo Switch owner, you’ve been left out of this crash-tastic action thus far. That changes this summer. Wreckfest is finally coming to Switch on June 21, 2022.

If you did happen to play this on a Series S like we did, you’ll probably notice a significant downgrade in visual quality from the Series S version to the Switch version. That said, the addictive, destructive gameplay seems to have been left intact (including customization and multiplayer). And that’s what really counts.

Here’s a list of features from a recent press release:

  • Awesome Cars – Old, banged-up, patched-together cars that simply ooze style! From old American heavy-hitters to agile Europeans and fun Asians, you won’t find anything like this in other games.
  • Meaningful Customization – Change not only the look of your cars but also upgrade their body armor
  • Receive free updates that add new tracks and tournament challenges with unique rewards (please note: tournaments will be a free upgrade, available post-launch)
  • Multiplayer – Wreck your friends online and take racing to the limit while chasing for demolition dominance!
