Ghostwire: Tokyo

Sony’s Days of Play promotion is currently live on its digital storefront, and there are a number of great deals to be found. Some great games are discounted with some solid sales prices, like Judgment for $19.99 on PS5 (and only $14.99 on PS4) and even the standard edition of Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart for the oddly specific $39.89.

But for me, Ghostwire: Tokyo, which is currently deeply discounted at $29.99 (for the standard edition), is the deal of the century. At $39.99 I would advise against going for the deluxe edition, which only includes a few cosmetic items, including the Streetwear outfit pack, a Shinobi Outfit, and a Shinobi Kunai Weapon skin. Unless you’re into that kind of thing, I suppose. You do you.

I know Ghostwire: Tokyo got a lot of flack for its rigid western open-world approach that kind of fell flat, something I touched on in my not-a-review review. But there is still quite a lot to love about this game, from the pretty cool magic-based finger-gun combat to the gorgeously realized depiction of Tokyo. And for $30, I think that is a fair buy-in to experience this truly unique game. I mean, I paid full price at launch and don’t regret it, so I imagine at half price it should be a no-brainer.

Plus, if more people give it a shot, higher sales numbers might lead to a sequel, or even a new game that utilizes the Tokyo game world, which was pretty much the main selling point of Ghostwire.

Sony’s Days of Play sale runs through June 8, 2022, so you’ve got some time to decide if Ghostwire: Tokyo is in your wheelhouse. And if you aren’t familiar with Ghostwire: Tokyo at all, why not check out the official accolades trailer to get you up to speed?
