Cult of the Lamb - The Four

If you’ve been reading Half-Glass Gaming lately, it probably doesn’t come as a surprise that I am super excited about Cult of the Lamb, a wicked little roguelite/management game from Massive Monster and Devolver Digital. I got to try out a preview build of the game, and I ended up falling completely in love with it.

After revealing its cult-building elements and wacky characters in previous trailers, a new trailer popped up today that walks you through some more of the gameplay elements. It explains, for example, a little bit about the tarot card system (which I did touch on in my preview coverage).

The real meat of the trailer, though, is the second half, which shows off the Four, a quartet of demonic bosses that you will face off against in Cult of the Lamb. Leshy is the first one, taking the shape of a giant worm thing. Heket is a big red frog, while Kalamar is a sort of squid thing with insectoid arms. Finally, Shamura, the oldest of the Four, has a spider-like appearance.

Now, based on the five dungeon doors I saw in my time with the preview, my assumption is that there is still another final boss after you beat the Four, but we’ll have to wait for the game’s release next week to be certain.

In the meantime, you can watch the two-minute Cult of the Lamb Fight the Four trailer below.

Cult of the Lamb is due out on August 11, 2022, for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and PS5.
