Originally revealed with the vaguest of teasers, we’ve now gotten a look at the first screenshots of Vengeance Is Mine from 110 Industries and Soleil. The team also revealed some new info, and it seems like a pretty interesting title to watch out for.
The game features mech combat, though based on the player character’s slimmer nature compared to most mechs we’re used to, it looks like you might not be a big ol’ lumbering mech. Aside from pummeling enemies, you’ll be able to use an “energy-based projectile weapon” — or gun, we think — to take down far-off enemies.
Where things get interesting, though, is in your mech’s time manipulation skills. You play as Gabriel Jaeger, who barely survives his execution and takes control of a HYDRA mech suit. While it may be a prototype, it’s still equipped with some fancy abilities. For example, you’ll be able to speed up time and even rewind time to avoid death. Even cooler, you can blink (quick teleport dash) toward enemies to get all up in their faces before you wreck them.
Vengeance Is Mine looks like it could certainly be a fun time. It’s currently in development, with folks who previously worked on Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Final Fantasy XV on board. The game is due out in 2024 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
