Upcoming horror game Vlad Circus: Descend into Madness has the makings of a disturbing and unsettling exploitation movie. The game is set in the 1920s, years after a fire marked the end of the titular Vlad Circus. You play as Lazy Ollie, a clown who, along with other members of the carnie troupe, has returned at the behest of the ringleader to try and revive the act.
But alas, things don’t go as planned, as Ollie and the rest of the troupe realize that there are many horrors awaiting them. You’ll explore a Victorian-styled manor as well as haunted grounds as Ollie tries to piece back fragments of his deteriorating memory. Along the way you’ll encounter bloodied corpses, hostile zombie-like enemies, and Ollie’s own shattered sanity.
Though Vlad Circus: Descend into Madness seems pretty story-driven, the game will also offer survival-horror gameplay. You’ll have to fight back against the bloody enemies that roam the grounds and claim them as their own. The game looks pretty creepy and uses its pixel-art style in clever ways to create a dark and haunting atmosphere.
Currently, Vlad Circus: Descend into Madness is planned for release in Q1 2023. The game will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
