Asterigos - Miltos the Matriarch

In Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, there’s a series of challenges called the Trinity Challenges, which ask you to defeat optional bosses. The first one is Miltos the Matriarch, and defeating her will earn you the Grilled Tastes Better Trophy/Achievement.

So where do you find her, and how do you defeat her once you’ve located the correct area?

Okay, so first up, you need to have progressed past the Event of Trinity. There’s a major story event at this point in the game, and then the entire world turns from day to night. If you haven’t made it to that event, then you won’t be able to do this boss fight.

Now, I’m going to show you a path to the boss fight in this video:

Note that the starting location is the Border Outpost Conduit in the Outerrim. Yes, that’s the very first Conduit you’ll unlock in the entire game. Follow the path outlined in the video above. One thing to be aware of, though, is that Miltos might not appear right away — there might be a non-boss boar in her place. If this is the case, kill that boar, then go back to the Conduit and rest to reset enemy locations. Now try again and see if Miltos appears.

For defeating her, I strongly recommend upping your fire defense as high as possible. In the video, you’ll notice that I equip the Cult Ring and Cult Brooch before I start the fight. Both of those Trinkets have really good fire defense (+18 on the Cult Ring, and +11 on the Cult Brooch).

If you don’t have those items, you can find the recipe by defeating the Mimic in the Warden’s Cage area. If you’re not sure where that is, here’s my guide to finding all the Mimics in Asterigos.

The fight is honestly not that difficult, but Miltos has one hugely powerful attack that you need to be wary of. You’ll know she’s about to do it when shockwaves start radiating outward from her boar body. After a few seconds, she’s going to unleash a massive blast of fire in all directions. The best way to avoid this is to make sure you’re as far away from her as possible.

One other thing to watch out for is that she’ll occasionally set patches of the ground on fire. If that happens, stepping in the fire will cause you damage.

Now, just try to stay behind Miltos as much as possible, and the rest of the fight shouldn’t be too difficult.

And that’s how you defeat Miltos the Matriarch to earn the Grilled Tastes Better Trophy/Achievement in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.
