The Colonists is an adorable city management game in which a group of Wall-E-like robots attempts to colonize a planet that looks strikingly similar to Earth. It’s been out on Steam for a while now (since October, 2018), but it’s finally coming to consoles next month.
With the transition to consoles, obviously some things had to change. The console version adapts with new controls and a console-enhanced user interface (UI). They’re also throwing in cute robot hats as a bonus for some reason. Hey, I’ll take it!
While city management games like this tend to be best enjoyed on PC, I’ve enjoyed Tropico 4 and Surviving Mars on consoles just fine. Heck, I primarily play The Sims 4 on PS4 instead of PC. While all of those games make a few sacrifices to pull off the transition to consoles, each one holds up surprisingly well. I have high hopes that The Colonists will do just fine on consoles as well.
