Chronos: Before the Ashes is a prequel to 2019’s Remnant: From the Ashes, thought this one has you exploring an ancient labyrinth. There’s a really interesting catch here: Your character ages up a full year every time they die. This means that your spry young hero will eventually become world-weary and weakened by age, though wiser in the ways of the arcane.
This is an interesting mechanic, and I’m curious to see how it plays out in the game. Will your character perpetually keep aging until an ultimate death, or will there be a way to reverse the debilitating flow of time? I guess we’ll have to wait and see. For now, call me intrigued.
