The Sims 4: Paranormal Stuff Pack is filled with new furniture, clothing, and hairstyles, but it also marks the return of a beloved NPC. Bonehilda was introduced in The Sims: Makin’ Magic, and she’s been a fan favorite ever since. Her skeletal design is fantastic, but if you’d like to learn how to make Bonehilda human, the process is actually pretty simple.

Bonehilda may look dead, but she’s very much alive. That means that standard methods of resurrecting Sims won’t work on her. She can’t wish for life at the Wishing Well, you can’t cast the Dedeathify spell on her, and nothing will happen if she eats ambrosia. At first, I thought I’d have to use mods to make her human, like I did with Guidry, but the process is actually a lot easier than that.

After I saw a Reddit thread about Bonehilda shocking herself back to life, I decided to give that a try. I had Bonehilda repair appliance after appliance, but no matter how hard I tried, she never managed to electrocute herself. Since Bonehilda has a high handiness skill, this isn’t something that will happen easily!

Thankfully, there’s no electrocution necessary if you want a fleshy Bonehilda in your household. Despite her appearance, Bonehilda isn’t actually a skeleton at all. She’s just wearing a very convincing, Scooby-Doo style costume.

If you want a human Bonehilda, you’ll need to change her clothing. To do this, you’ll need to enable cheats. Once cheats are turned on, you’ll want to shift-click on Bonehilda and select “Modify in CAS.” (If you’re on console, you can do this by pressing circle and X on PS4 or holding A and B on Xbox One. Just note that once you enable cheats, you will no longer be able to earn Trophies/Achievements in that save file.)

From there, the only thing you’ll need to do is select a new outfit for Bonehilda. You can choose her classic maid dress or any other article of clothing. It doesn’t matter what you pick as long as you choose a new outfit. Once you do that…

Ta-da! You’ll have a brand new, fully fleshy Bonehilda. She’ll lose her cute little maid cap, and she’ll have a pretty basic design, but once you hit confirm, you’ll have a human Bonehilda in your game.

Because Bonehilda is wearing a costume, you can also have her switch from skeletal form to human form at any time. For example, you could have her keep her skeleton suit on when she’s working as a maid in your home, and have her take her costume off when she’s out on the town.

Want to know how to make Bonehilda human in The Sims 4 without using cheats? Sans cheats, your best bet is to search for Bonehilda in the gallery. Find the skeletal version of Bonehilda, add her to your household, and then remove her costume to make look like a regular-old human being. You can even customize the character and make her totally unique. She may not look like Bonehilda anymore, but you’ll know the truth.
