Endling – Extinction Is Forever is an absolutely brutal survival game where you play as a mother fox who must protect a litter of cubs. While the colorful cartoon aesthetic might lull you into a false sense of security, the actual gameplay will rip you apart — and tear your heart out in the process. This is a game where you’re forced to make tough decisions, and the wrong choices can often snowball into tragedy.
I played the game on PS5 back when I wrote my review, and it ran beautifully. But with its simple visual style and control scheme, Endling does seem like it might be a good fit for mobile devices.
As it turns out, developer Herobeat Studios and publisher HandyGames are testing those very waters, as Endling – Extinction Is Forever is coming to iOS and Android devices on February 7, 2023, at the low, low price of $9.99.
According to a press release I received this morning, this port is expected to be a premium, fully-featured version of the game, not a stripped-down version. Every feature in the PC and console versions will be accounted for on mobile devices, including those adorable little fox cubs.
Look, Endling – Extinction Is Forever is a fantastic game if you have the stomach for such things — this game will emotionally wreck you. But if you still haven’t given it a shot, perhaps this mobile port will be the thing to finally win you over.
