Nexomon: Extinction isn’t even making an effort to hide its influences — this is a game that’s clearly using the Pokémon formula. That’s not a bad thing though. If you don’t own a Nintendo console, the Pokémon series is out of reach for you. Nexomon: Extinction might be the next best thing.
Besides, recent Pokémon games have hardly been the best in the series. The actual franchise might be better served by taking some time off and reevaluating what made us fall in love with the monster-catching thing in the first place, while the little guys, like Nexomon: Extinction, put their own twists on the classic formula.
And so far, Nexomon: Extinction seems to be doing quite well on Steam. It’s ranking near the top of Steam’s New & Trending section.
If you want to see for yourself what the game is all about, it’s reasonably priced and available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
