Diablo III - Darkening of Tristram

Blizzard’s Diablo originally launched in the United States on January 3, 1997, making today the game’s 24th birthday. And Blizzard is known for going all-out to celebrate the birth of its most demonic franchise.

Starting today, Diablo III players will be able to take part in the Darkening of Tristram event. This yearly event opens a portal to the original Diablo‘s cathedral, rebuilt inside Diablo III but with a “RetroVision” filter that makes it more pixelated.

This is a chance at earning exclusive loot, so it’s worth dipping your devilish little toes into if you’re a fan of all things Diablo.

The event is live right now, and it goes until January 31. At that point, the portal will be closed for another year.
