Monster Harvest

At the beginning of the year, we put Monster Harvest on our list of most anticipated games of 2021. This looks like a cross between Stardew Valley and Pokémon, which we’re all about, and we love the glorious pixel art. At the time, we didn’t have any idea when the game was coming; we just new that it was, and that we were ready for it.

Later, a May release date was announced with a physical release in June. Then it was delayed to July. We’re a bit bummed to report that Monster Harvest was delayed yet again to August 19, 2021. This delay is to ensure the launch version of the game is as polished as possible.

Kerry Vandenberg, joint owner of Maple Powered Games, made the following statement about the delay:

Delays are awful, we are sorry to let down our friends and fans, yet we want to make sure we dispatch Monster Harvest in the best shape possible so that our whole community will enjoy it. We realised how important it is to ensure high-quality support for as many regions as possible right from launch day, even if that means having to push back our release date by just over a month. We are shipping the game by August 19th, with no further days and it’ll be worth it when we show what we have in store for you.

We suppose that we’ll take a delay if it means a better launch-day product, but we’re still a bit sad to have to wait longer for this. It’s been on our radar for a while now, and we’ve been eager to get our hands on it.

Monster Harvest is coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and Steam on August 19. Physical copies of the game will be available for PS4 and Switch in the United States, and Europe.
