Dying Light 2 - Bicycle

Traversal is probably the best thing about Dying Light 2: Stay Human. It’s just so much fun to parkour your way around Villedor’s rooftops while zombies shamble sluggishly below you. There are, of course, additional tools to aid you in this traversal, including a grapple hook and a paraglider.

But did you know there’s also a fully rideable bicycle as well? I didn’t, until I stumbled across this reddit thread by user Taki7o7.

Now, don’t waste your time actually trying to find your own bike in Dying Light 2. While this is fully functional in the game files, there doesn’t seem to be any in-game way of acquiring it. It was discovered using the developer menu, which can be added to the game via Nexus Mods. So unless you’re willing to mod your game, you won’t be able to ride a bike. At least for now…

It’s unclear if this was something that was removed because it didn’t mesh well with the parkour-based gameplay, or if Techland is just saving it for a future patch or piece of DLC. Perhaps they’re still tweaking it to make sure it operates as smoothly as possible before they make it official?

What’s even stranger is that there also appears to be a hoverboard as well. This one is actually rideable without modding, but only in one challenge for now. But who knows? Techland did say they have at least five years of support planned for the game, so maybe expanding the hoverboard usage could be part of that?

Either way, you can check out some videos of the bike and hoverboard in action below.
