I very recently went through the tedious four-hour process of reinstalling Red Dead Redemption 2 so I could have a little bit of quality time with my beloved Red Dead Online. Of course, with this process comes the old hard drive issue — what do I delete to make room for this massive, massive game?
Now that Gotham Knights is almost upon us, I’m running into storage issues again, and really, the only thing I can really justify removing is Red Dead Redemption 2, just days after reinstalling it. So it goes.
But first, because it’s the spookiest of seasons, and because I failed to complete the Halloween Pass 2 when it was new (back in 2021), I decided that I would at least finish the pass and earn the ultimate carrot on the stick, the skull lantern.
If you’ve earned this puppy and you’re wondering how to equip it, you simply visit the fence, who will sell you the lantern for the low, low price of free (so long as you’ve unlocked it in the Halloween Pass).
So that’s done now. I have officially completed another seasonal pass in Red Dead Online. Do I feel like I accomplished something today? Kind of, but not really. Completing this pass felt a little bit like paying off a parking ticket or cleaning the bird crap off a windshield — it’s nice that I don’t have to think about it anymore, but the process to get here wasn’t a pleasant one.
But now that it’s done, I guess it’s time to say goodbye to Red Dead Online once again. I’m sure I’ll be back at some point. Rockstar always manages to pull me back in somehow…
