Today saw the first full Nintendo Direct in quite some time, and as we all expected, it opened with a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate reveal. The next fighter is Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
This two-in-one character combo seems like she/they will be a blast to play.
This is not the first time we’ve seen a Xenoblade character in Smash, as Shulk has been on the roster since Super Smash Bros. 4. The addition is also probably not wetting the tear ducts of gamers the way Sephiroth’s announcement did. Still, new characters are always welcome, no matter which series the originate from.
Pyra/Mythra will become part of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate lineup as part of the Ultimate Fighters Pass Vol. 2 at some point in March.
