The World’s End Club demo may be brief, but it isn’t short on adventure, charm, and style. The game seems like it has a little bit of everything. There are references to classic games, loveable characters, intrigue, a cliffhanger ending, and at least one head-scratching puzzle.

If you play through the demo, you’ll eventually find a panel that asks you to decipher a 6-digit passcode from the code below. You can give up on solving the puzzle, but if you do, there’s no way to leave the room. Deciphering the code is the only way to see the ending for the World’s End Club demo.

Thankfully, this puzzle is much easier to solve than it seems. I initially thought that the arrows represented specific numbers, and that the code was 6 digits long because one of the doubles had double-digits. While that train of thought didn’t pan out, I eventually figured out the actual solution.

The arrows aren’t really a code for anything. They’re simply telling you the direction the next number is located in. You start with 5, move northeast for 9, south for 6 southwest for 2, west for 1, and north for 4. Put it all together, and you’ll have the code that opens the door: 596214.

The World’s End Club demo won me over completely, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you’re on the fence about getting the game. If you’re a fan of visual novels with gameplay like the Danganronpa and Zero Escape series, this is a title you won’t want to miss. World’s End Club will be available for Nintendo Switch on May 21st. A demo is available in the Nintendo Switch eShop and on Apple Arcade.
