Young Souls - Clothing Menu

In Young Souls, there are two different types of wearable equipment. You’ve got your armor, which will boost your stats, and then there’s your basic clothing, which is just there for cosmetic purposes. You can swap out both, but the process for changing your clothes isn’t exactly intuitive. There are two ways to do this.

Change your clothes after sleeping

Young Souls - Home

The easiest way to change your clothes is just to sleep. When you wake up in the morning, you’ll be taken to the clothing menu before you start your day. This lets you pick out an outfit for that day.

However, the game doesn’t let you sleep whenever you want to. You need to have earned enough XP to level up before the option is available. This means you can only use this method of changing your clothes once per level up.

Thankfully, there’s a second option.

Change your clothes in the equipment menu

Young Souls - Equip

When you press the Menu button on your Xbox controller, you’ll bring up a pause menu. From there, you can press LT and RT to switch between menus. You’re looking for the Inventory menu (shown above). From there, go down to the bottom of the list and select Equip.

Once you’re in the Equip menu, you can toggle between your armor and your cosmetic gear by pressing the X button (on Xbox) or the CTRL key (on PC). Now you can swap out what you’re wearing for other pieces of clothing you’ve acquired. Note that clothing isn’t gender-locked, so you can wear any piece of clothing on either Jenn or Tristan.

You can also swap out sneakers in this same menu, but unlike your basic clothing, sneakers do give you special perks. You can also swap your sneakers in the armor menu.

Where to buy new clothing

But knowing how to change your clothes doesn’t do you a lot of good if you don’t have any clothing to change into. Thankfully, you can buy new clothing downtown. For footwear, you can visit the shop Solid Sneakers, which is located between Happy Fit and City Hall. If you go past City Hall, though, you’ll eventually come to Teen Spirit, which will sell you hats, shirts, and pants.

The selection updates as you get deeper into the game, so you’ll want to check back often. Of course, to buy these clothes, you’re going to need cash, which is a separate currency from the goblin tokens you earn in dungeons. If you want to know more about making cash in Young Souls, you can check out my currency guide.

And that’s pretty much everything you need to know about changing clothing in Young Souls.
