Asterigos - Mimic

In Asterigos: Curse of the Stars, there’s a Trophy/Achievement called Licky, which asks you to “Defeat all Mimics.” Old-school RPG fans should be quite familiar with the Mimic, a monster that disguises itself as a treasure chest.

There are 12 Mimics hiding in Asterigos, and if you kill them, they’ll drop trinket recipes that you can bring back to Vulcane. In fact, this will be an important step in earning the Smithy Trophy/Achievement (which asks you to collect 20 craftable trinkets).

So let’s walk through every Mimic location in Asterigos: Curse of the Stars.

Darkwater Wastes Mimic

The first Mimic is located in the Black Streets in an area called Darkwater Wastes. It’s accessible from the Inner City Rampart Conduit, as shown in the video above. There’s a hidden path behind a wall that will take you right to it (you might actually come back through this section of the game after you defeat Baraad, but the route is kind of labyrinthine, so you could easily miss it).

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Bone (Volume 1).

Amphitheater Mimic

Next up, there’s a Mimic in the Amphitheater section of the Phalan Academy campus area, close to where you’ll fight Eulalia. In the video above, I show you how to get there when starting from the Amphitheater Conduit.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Bone (Volume 2).

Phalan Academy Mimic

In the video above, I show you how to find it from the Phalan Trail Conduit, but it’s actually closer to the Political Campus Conduit. I just chose the Phalan Trail one because I think it’s the more recognizable Conduit, therefore it’s easier to orient yourself along this path rather than the shorter one.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Aphes Legion (Volume 1).

Phalan Armory Mimic

In a later part of the same section of the game, there’s another Mimic; this one’s hiding in the armory. The video shows the path from the Armorers’ Chamber Conduit, but if you wait until after you help Otto in the Martial Tower, the Inner Tower Conduit is way closer to this area.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Aphes Legion (Volume 2).

Laurel Craft Mimic

After Minerva lets you into the Laurel Craft area, you will need to rummage around in an abandoned basement for your next mission objective. On your way back to Minerva, there’s a Mimic that you really can’t miss. If you somehow walked by it without noticing, though, I’ve recorded a quick video of where to find it.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Pilgrim (Volume 1).

Ponte’s Legacy Mimic

After the Laurel Craft section, Minerva will give you access to more areas of the game. In the Sunken Outskirts, there’s an area called Ponte’s Legacy. I’ve recorded a route to the Mimic from the Hunter’s Camp Conduit.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Pilgrim (Volume 2).

Sluice Kavalla Mimic

In the sewers beneath Laurel Manor, you’ll find another Mimic. To reach this one, you’ll first need to drain the water using the sluice mechanism. To activate the mechanism, you’ll need to use Charged Bombs with the Thunder Enchantite to remove the green slime from all of the chains. There’s one that’s up above your head, which is pretty easy to miss, so make sure you knock that one out too. Once you do that, you can activate the switch to lower the water. Once the water is lowered, follow the path shown in the video above, starting from the Sluice Kavalla Conduit below Arges Plaza.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Cult (Volume 1).

Prima Boulevard Mimic

After you get through the sewers beneath Laurel Manor, you will come out to the place where you have to take part in a trial with Minerva. If you go one direction, you’ll find the trial, but if you go the opposite direction, you’ll find a building that has a Mimic behind it. The video above shows how to get there from the Prima Boulevard Conduit.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Decurion (Volume 1).

Pegasus Garden Mimic

There’s a sealed-off area in Pegasus Garden that hides another Mimic. To unlock this section, you need to embark on a pretty lengthy quest where you help Narkis uncover a secret cult in the sewers beneath Laurel Manor. I’ve already written up a full guide to this quest line, so I’ll post the link right here.

Once you’ve completed the quest, you can follow the path in the video above, starting from the Pegasus Garden Conduit.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Decurion (Volume 2).

Underground Lake Mimic

This Mimic can be found way in the bottom of the Glittering Deeps, in the Underground Lake. The path I show in the video above starts at the Underground Lake Conduit.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Templar (Volume 1).

Warden’s Cage Mimic

The next Mimic can be found in the Styx prison area as you’re making your way to the Black Warden boss fight. The path illustrated in the video above starts at the Warden’s Cage Conduit.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Cult (Volume 2).

Disc of Smite Mimic

Before you fight this Mimic, you’re going to have to get to the very end of the game, when you’re making your way up the Caelum Summit. You’ll need to teleport to the Trail of Astrology Conduit. There’s a sneaky little path behind the Conduit that will take you to the secret boss fight against Pallas, Guardian of Acropolis. On your way to that fight, you’ll find a suspicious treasure chest that’s actually a Mimic. Follow the path in the video above to find it.

For defeating this Mimic, you’ll earn Trinket Design: Templar (Volume 2).
